Approach

Your commercial success comes first.

Disclose or keep confidential? Fight or settle? In intellectual property, there is rarely only one route to the goal. Together, we find the route that is best for you.

  1. Clarity over caution

Every review ends with a recommendation. Reasoned, with the risks openly stated – but unambiguous. The decision is then yours.

  2. Business-minded

I look at your product not only through the eyes of a patent attorney, but also with a view to the market, competition, budget and your strategy.

  3. On equal technical footing

I get to grips with your technology quickly – with the aim of being a partner on equal footing for your project.

Services

Product protection from every angle

At YAK–IP, product protection is the focus. The boundaries between technical IP rights such as patents and utility models and non-technical ones such as trade marks and designs are often fluid. We also look at the area where technical and design features overlap – and take a holistic approach to finding the right protection for you.

  • Patents and utility models

From invention disclosure to grant: German, European and international applications, carefully drafted and consistently prosecuted.

  • Strong trade marks

So that your customers not only value your products but keep finding their way back to you.

  • Protected design

A product’s success can also lie in its appearance. You protect it with registered designs.

  • Sound decisions

Whether validity or freedom to operate: robust opinions are the basis of good decisions.

  • Opposition, nullity and enforcement

Attacking third-party IP rights, defending and enforcing your own – before the offices and courts, including the Unified Patent Court.

  • Innovation harvesting and workshops

Tracking down developments worth protecting on site at your company – and enabling your team in workshops to recognise inventions themselves.

  • IP strategy

Together with you, I develop an IP portfolio that fits your corporate strategy.

  • Employee inventions

Advice on handling employee inventions efficiently and with legal certainty. Designing and supporting your processes for assessment and fair remuneration.

Innovation harvesting

Your ideas, on home ground.

Ideas are born in the minds and hearts of your people.

When your company lacks the time to channel these ideas and turn them into protectable assets, I will gladly come to you – for a few hours, a few days or for as long as it takes.

On-site advice also includes workshops: your teams learn to recognise inventions in their day-to-day work – so that good ideas do not go into series production unnoticed.

Your ideas. Your IP rights.
